Job Description

The Electrical/Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support for the manufacturing of telecom test equipment. Primarily responsible for assembly line layout, workcell design, work instructions and the introduction and implementation of fundamental manufacturing engineering principles and practices to ensure product quality, productive manufacturing, on-time delivery and compliance with company policies and procedures. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

This is an entry level position.

Essential Job Functions

Provide technical support for manufacturing products & processes.

Develop Standard Work and update Work Instructions

Maintain automated test equipment and test stations. Design & create test fixtures to test components & assembled circuit boards.

Introduce new products to manufacturing ; create work instructions, validate procedures, maintain the BOM and establish routings

Perform ECR/ECO

Trouble-shoot difficult electrical problems, determine root cause, and implement solutions. Ensure data captured from trouble-shooting is comprehensive & accurate.

Develop first article inspection criteria to qualify new components.

Maintain BOM's on products

Validate test equipment & fixtures for intended use; establish TPM for machinery

Recommend design changes to improve product quality, performance, cost, & reliability.

Special projects as required.

Employee must maintain the skill necessary to ensure his or her own quality. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.

A Bachelors degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Electrical principals coursework

Experience in manufacturing environment through an internship program

Understanding of LEAN principles

Analog & digital exposure

Proficient in the use of standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes & spectrum analyzers
