Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering role in land and marine vehicles design. The ideal candidate should have a passion for vehicles and transformation systems technology, accompanied with exceptional communication skills, great attitude, be a result oriented team player, and a great problem-solver. The Mechanical Engineers will design, development, testing and support production of Textron Systems Marine and Land Systems' family of Land and Marine Vehicles as well as integration of vehicular components, systems and subassemblies in conjunction with new design, product improvement, field and production problem resolution, and other assigned tasks.

The Mechanical Engineers also create engineering model and drawing in CAD system such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA and Pro-E. Perform engineering calculations, writing specifications, formulating sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, cost and scheduling estimates. Provide technical support to designers, draftsmen, and test engineers for technical data package delivery. Be able to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.

Responsibilities:

* Perform detailed design of various vessel structures to ensure structural integrity.
* Create engineering products such as drawings, specifications, test reports, and analyses for completeness and accuracy.
* Coordinate and review technical efforts.
* Manage assigned tasks according to schedules and available resources.
* Coordinate structural interface requirements with other engineers and designers.
* Prepare layouts of craft structural scantlings, machinery foundations, and other structural details, using 3-D CAD models under the direction of the Integrated Production Team (IPT) Lead Engineer.
* Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education:

ABET accredited Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. Candidates with high GPA > 3.0 and CAD courses is preferred.

Position Requirements: Must be knowledgeable in 3 or more of the following areas:

* Mechanical component and system integration and analysis
* Mechanical powertrain system design and load analysis
* Dynamics and statics structures design and analysis
* Electromotive components system design and integration
* Electro-mechanical and servo control mechanism design and integration
* Mechanical/Electronic instrumentation and data acquisition
* Hands-on laboratory or test facility and/or internship experience
