Implements customer value propositions and related marketing programs that grow brand equity as appropriate for the applicable brand portfolio within a given geographic marketing area. May supervise Brand Management Specialists and/or third-party advertising agencies. Assists with the development of all consumer-facing marketing communication efforts including, but not limited to i) media plans, ii) creative development, iii) promotions, and iv) consumer market research (e.g., awareness and usage studies). Implements brand image and trademark standards, and the tools that measure compliance against the related standards.


Advertising Development/Coordination (above the line/Media)

  • Implement advertising campaigns for branded channels of trade
  • Implement regional and national promotions
  • Support ad agency partners to implement and track all regional and local campaigns
  • Accountable for portions of budgets related budget

Point of Purchase Program (below the line/POP)

  • Implement production timelines for on-time printing and distribution to retail sites
  • Accountable for portions of budgets associated with POP program

Cooperative Advertising Program Management

  • Implement program guidelines
  • Manage program utilization reporting tools
  • Manage communications with field marketing organization regarding utilization rates and recommendations for proper usage of funds
  • Accountable for portions of budgets associated with Cooperative Adverting Program

Brand Standards and Related Programs

  • Manage brand and image standards and related reference guides
  • Manage relationship with Third-Party mystery shop program administrator(s)
  • Implement survey questionnaire and scoring criteria as needed
  • Manage ‘dashboard’ for reporting results to customers and key stakeholders
  • Manage Performance Support Program for sites failing to meet passing criteria
  • Manage reward program for qualifying sites
  • Accountable for portions of budgets associated with Brand Rewards Program

Loyalty Program Administration

  • Implement proprietary Tesoro loyalty programs for related brands in applicable markets
  • Support the implementation and/or performance tracking of third-party loyalty programs

Financial Analysis

  • Develop financial models as appropriate to support brand marketing programs
  • Run SAP reports
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in business with emphasis in brand management, marketing communications or economics required.
  • Masters preferred
  • Minimum 7 years in brand, advertising, marketing, project management, program administration or related fields required.
