Job Description

Autopilot Software and UI New Grad

The Role

You will develop embedded software for Tesla's current and next generation autonomous vehicle for Tesla. You will contribute to cross-functional system architecture, software system design, and rapid prototyping.

Your application to the Autopilot Software and UI role will be considered for all opportunities across Autopilot in Palo Alto, CA.

Requir ed Skills

Proficiency in C/C++ and strong scripting skills in at least one common language (Python, Perl, Shell).

Fluent in software fundamentals including software design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity, and maintainability.

Experience designing real-time embedded systems in C.

Capable of hands-on bring up, debug and code optimization.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with automotive ECUs, especially those in hybrid and electric powertrains, a plus

Familiar with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, IDE and source code control.

Experience working with safety critical systems.

Robotics background, including familiarity in topics such as:

Path planning


Object Tracking

Decision Making




BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program such as Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Mechatronics Engineering.

You must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.

Hands-on experience is a must.

Professional and positive communication skills.

Previous internship and/or project experience is a plus.

Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California.
