Hadoop Platform Software Dev in Test

Summary Description:

This position is within the fast paced Teradata Hadoop platform engineering team. The team is responsible for the integration of third party Hadoop distributions and delivering software releases for use in Teradata product offerings. You'll be part of our Scrum team and your focus will be quality assurance.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Create test cases to extend the existing automated test asset, verify the new tests, and then integrate them into the automated test runs.
- Triage and report on nightly automated test runs on one or more configurations.
- Report bugs and work with developers for issues isolated as part of new commits. Correct bugs isolated to the test asset.
- Execute manual test cases within the project test plan to deliver releases to schedule
- Verify and close corrected bug reports
- Provide & implement recommendations/suggestions to improve product quality

Qualifications:
- US Permanent residence
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in CS, EE, CE
- 0 - 2 years' related work experience
- Familiar with Java, Python, or other scripting languages in Linux/Unix environments
- Strong interpersonal and exhibit good communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and be able to estimate/organize own work

Work Environment:

- This position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA (San Diego).
