Job Description

This entry-level SW Engineer position is responsible for all phases of software development life cycle from software design through customer support.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, test and support new features for Stacki, our bare-metal open-source installer.

Collaborate well within a tight-knit team to produce world-class enterprise-grade software.

Enthusiastically investigate and explore creative ways in which to address the needs of our internal and external community that we are building around Stacki.

Skills & Attributes

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and creative software engineer who is ready to participate in a team environment and contribute to the success of Teradata. The successful candidate will possess excellent skills in organization and time management where scheduling priorities and efficiency in system configuration is essential.

This person will be primarily responsible for developing new features and supporting our open-source bare-metal installer (named "Stacki"). The focus of the Stacki project is to enable the easy and rapid installation of Teradata systems in datacenters ("on prem") and in public and private cloud environments.

Basic Qualifications

US Permanent Residence

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

0-2 years relevant work experience

Programming experience in a high-level scripting language

Excellent organizational, presentation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills

Linux experience required

Self-motivated and ability to grasp new concepts and technical skills quickly

Highly organized, good time management skills and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python

Experience in group software development and routine use of version control tools, experience with git version control is a plus

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat or Ubuntu system administration experience

Experience in building, organizing and cultivating a community based around an open-source project is a plus
