Job Title: Software Engineer I/ CTO Assistant

Position Description/Major Responsibilities:

The entry level candidate will be supporting the Teradata Database Engineering CTO and Product Architects. The candidate will be responsible to coordinate with various development teams within Teradata Database Engineering

Tasks include:
- Help to manage the release content, delivery and custom benchmarks
- Maintain the wiki for the CTO Department and support events ( Lab Talks, Hackathons and "Tech Bytes" )
- Support analysis for customer system configuration

- Understand and modify the code, and test enhancements for Teradata database software for specific customer requirements

- Attend department meetings and document action items

- Assist in preparing presentations for the TDE CTO or other Product Architects

Essential Functions:

The required skills for this position include:
- strong working knowledge of C/C and Java
- working knowledge of SQL (several years of experience or equivalent academic studies required)
- working knowledge of Linux operating systems is highly desirable
- understanding of relational database logical and physical design concepts
- written and oral communication proficiency
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- strong analytical abilities involving complex software in a parallel processing environment
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

A BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 3.5. or better GPA
