PURPOSE/SCOPE:  Explain in 3-5 sentences what this job performs, intended outcomes, and scope of responsibility (i.e. department, division, group/team – if applicable).

The Global Strategic Supply Group Manager will manage a  grouping of supply categories (direct and indirect) and a supply team globally.  They will own the relationship with the suppliers that make up the categoires they lead.  They will focus on s supply chain concentrating on velocity and continuously improving  key operational/cross-functional  elements for all global sites and regions.  Success in this role is dependent on achieving key metrics including total cost/cash, supplier engagement, supplier risk mitigation and  supplier performance as well as developing both short and long term strategies.  The



GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  List key activities describing major tasks/duties, essential responsibilities, accountabilities, working relationships, and key activities associated with the role.  Include the approximate % of time spent on each major area/task.

  • The Global Strategic Supply Group Manager will lead a global team that manages a grouping of categories including strategy development & deployment,  supplier relationship &  performance management, total cost management and supply chain execution


  • Develop and drive global strategies taking into account internal requirements and limitations as well as current and future external market conditions for the organizations global footprint.


  • Actively manage the global  supply total cost savings funnel through the stages of  ideation, evaluation, execution and results for category specific projects.
  • Manage and continuously improve the Global Strategic Supply Base utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles/Methodologies and Total Cost Models


  • Understand business goal and customer expectations.  Anticipate and mitigate Global Supply related issues that may affect both.


  • Establish and maintain relationships with key organizational leaders and stakeholders across multiple regions and functional departments.


  • Capture and report on key performance indicators for Global Strategic Supply utilizing enterprise data, information and reporting mechanisms
  • Provide active support  for the Global Supply Team in relation to  New Product Development, Marketing, Product Management, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality and Current Product Engineering







  • Bachelor level degree in with a concentration in Industrial Enginering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Material Management, or related field.
  • 5-7  years work related experience in a related field
  • MS Office, SAP or related ERP experience
  • E2E business experience
  • Manufacturing and/or Distribution and Logistics experience
  • Knowledge and exposure to the concepts of Lean Material flow
  • Experience and knowledge working with regulatory issues, commodity markets, and currency
  • Lean six sigma experience
