We are hiring a Specification Specialist covering Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and South Louisiana territory.  The Specification Specialist is a revenue generating position focused on identifying construction projects within an assigned territory.  This candidate will manage the entire specification process from prospect to specification approval.



  • Work independently and within the Tennant Coatings Sales group to establish strategies and tactics that result in new account business generation.
  • Own the entire sales process from prospecting new business to the specification approval.
  • Partner with the territory Coatings Sales Specialist to support the bid submittal process.
  • Schedule and complete weekly prospecting activities to include submittal approval requests, job takeoffs and construction opportunities.
  • Build & maintain rapport with key decision makers at architect’s firms, design build companies, general contractors, specifiers, engineering firms and end users.
  • Create and source sales materials, presentations, contracts & pricing.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales targets within 6, 12 and 24 months of job start date.
  • Enter and maintain daily sales activities, leads and pipeline into CRM.
  • Propose meaningful solutions based on identified needs while presenting in a persuasive manner. Continuously support proposals with standard industry formats.
  • Maintain product documentation records.
  • Negotiate effectively with prospects using line extension strategies to expand Tennant product offerings. Create a value proposition that motivates buyers to do business with Tennant.
  • Independently manage business situations and negotiations. This includes anticipating obstacles and adjust in real time to achieve a favorable result.
  • Work closely with technical support, inside sales, regional sales specialists and contractors.
