ABOUT THE INDUSTRIAL STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGER (SAM) PROFILE AND TEAM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive profitable growth in assigned strategic customer segments and vertical markets.
  • Develop and execute strategies that analyze and reflect an understanding of the customer’s needs, emerging trends, critical opportunities, and metrics that will increase sales, expand market share, and improve profitability.
  • Maintain a strong business relationship with all key strategic account contacts. Conduct regular reviews with each account that focus on business progress and development, changing customer needs, problems, obstacles, new partnership opportunities, and improved measures.
  • Provide accurate business and market forecasts.
  • Communicate effectively with management and the various sales channels, keeping all levels informed on the progress and impact of strategic accounts.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of all products, services and applications.
  • Is mindful and judicious in the consumption of company resources including their time, expenses.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of overall business experience, to include a minimum of 7 years selling into high-level accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience selling to executive levels and business owners
  • Takes initiative and ownership to identify and achieve goals and objectives
  • Thinks and acts strategically and at the appropriate level
  • Examines issues from multiple perspectives to develop effective and sustainable solutions
  • Establishes a clear line of sight between customer needs and organizational objectives
  • Effectively integrates and manages the interface between groups
  • Confidently and positively adapts to changes and challenges
  • Continually expands technical expertise and integrates best practices into his/her work
  • Solicits and is receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong presentation, training and facilitation skills
  • Proficient at interacting with people at all levels of an organization
