Job Description

The Research Analyst/ Associate will be responsible for working primarily on two investigations focused on the role of children's sleep in obesity and/or type 2 diabetes risk. The incumbent will report directly to the Project Director and will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other project staff. The Research Analyst will assist with a number of study-related activities, including participant recruitment, retention, and screening for eligibility, conducting assessments with families, and data entry and management. In addition, the incumbent will assist Project Director with IRB modifications, literature reviews, cash handling and distribution/record keeping of gift cards to participants. The incumbent will develop skills in configuring and scoring objective measures of sleep and physical activity in school-aged children, in conducting anthropometric measures, and in administering questionnaires and computer-based tasks with children. Performs other duties as assigned.

The position will require a child abuse history, FBI clearance, and criminal background checks. Evening availability is required.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Nutrition, or Related Field and minimum of 6 months experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and at a high level, and attend to detail.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.


* Previous experience on relevant research studies.
* Work experience involving families and children.
* Familiarity with data entry systems such as SPSS.
