Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Finance & Administration, the Lead Administrative Specialist provides faculty, staff and student support in the area of office management, faculty affairs and student awards. The Lead Administrative Specialist will act as office manager working with the Executive Assistant and Senior Administrative Specialist to ensure smooth operations in the Dean's suite. The Lead Administrative Specialist will manage all faculty affairs including, but not limited to, faculty searches, promotion and tenure, sabbatical requests and merit. The Lead Administrative Specialist will assist the Director of Finance & Administration in the staff hiring process and manage time off for exempt employees in Kronos. Annually, the Lead Administrative Specialist will coordinate with Departments to gather information on graduation awards and will request checks through Accounts Payable. The Lead Administrative Specialist will also work with Department and the Graduate School to generate teaching assistant and graduate assistant contracts. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

At least 3 years' experience in a faculty affairs, faculty support, human resources or office management position in a higher education setting.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Ability to multi-task and keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously with attention to detail
* Strong organization, communication, and decision making skills
* Exceptional customer service orientation
* Intermediate proficiency in Excel


* Demonstrated proficiency in Banner
* Bachelor's degree
