KING 5 Local Programming is looking for a creative, focused, hyper-responsible Intern to join our evening production team. Interns at Evening play an integral part in our editorial process and contribute to multi-platform content production every day. It's an immersive role where you'll learn about the TV industry, video production, story producing, copy-writing, digital publishing, and more.

About Evening: For more than 34 years, Evening has been celebrating the Pacific Northwest. The unofficial motto of the show is: "We go, see, and do - so you can, too!" Airing weeknights at 7:30 on KING 5, Evening is shot entirely in the field every day in Western Washington. From the hottest new restaurants and nightlife venues to the best hiking trails and family-friendly experiences, there's a reason for everyone in the PNW to watch Evening.

Required Hours: Flexible, 20 hours/week, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

* Copy-writing and publishing for TV, social and digital platforms
* Production - video ingesting, video editing, graphics for social videos
* Digital Publishing - Clipping and publishing segment video daily
* Organization + communication - Updating show calendars and rundowns daily

Requirements / Skills

* Must meet Internship eligibility requirements as defined here: https://www.king5.com/internships
* Good communication skills. You don't have to be an extrovert, but you can't be afraid to speak up or raise the red flag
* Demonstrated writing skills. You'll have to translate story content into compelling headlines, abstracts, and web copy every day. Must understand rules of grammar and how to organize story content
* Flexibility. You'll have to be ready to go with the flow or pivot on a dime
* Ability to problem-solve, analyze potential solutions, and use sound judgment to make decisions
* Strong project coordination, organizational, and time-management skills
* Must be able to perform in high-stress, deadline driven environment
* Must be a detail oriented, motivated self-starter
