Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

TeamBradley is collaborating with a thriving financial services corporation that is dedicated to providing their clients outstanding products. This expanding, stable company with consistent growth over the last decade is adding has an outstanding position for a Solution Architect. This person will be working across the company with stakeholders to ensure that while working on new company products, goals and initiatives are met. This person must be a decision maker, comfortable working with IT people and executives alike. Communication/presentation skills are as important as technical expertise as a solutions architect. The position is accountable for delivering solutions and meeting business guidelines and outcomes. This role provides leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of an enterprise's solution architecture.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop the direction for managing the organizations portfolio of solutions which match targeted business outcomes
  • Collaborate with company stakeholders and team members ensuring project success
  • Be the got to person regarding all architectural related needs and functions with in-house computing
  • Create and describe system design and models
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analysis
  • Direct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts; conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
  • Document the company's existing systems architecture and technology portfolio
  • Develop, document and communicate plans
  • Responsible for strategy, roadmap, governance, management, and integrity of the Architecture practice for the solutions area

EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management, or Information Systems preferred
  • 12 years IT development experience or equivalent
  • Experience as a Technical Leader and/or Project Architect
  • Strong Mainframe background required
  • Financial Services experience required, preference for Life insurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possess leadership skills, problem solving skills, able to multitask, meet deadlines, and set priorities
  • Strong experience in a complex environment
