Job Description


At TDS, our Interns are our future. We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about problem solving and analytics to propel our sales business forward. As an intern with us, you will build a solid foundation for your career by gaining hands-on experience from working on multiple projects.

Please note, this is a year-round internship at our offices at 525 Junction Rd. Madison, WI 53717. During the academic year a minimum of 15 hours is required, all working hours must be completed onsite.

Sales Operations is a force multiplier for improving sales productivity. Being part of the Sales Operations team will enable work on a variety of tactical and strategic initiatives such as compensation/incentive plans, process optimization, data modeling/analytics, and reporting.

In this role, you will provide data-driven recommendations to sales and marketing leadership to help shape business-related decisions. You will assist and help drive key initiatives designed to increase revenue, sales productivity, go-to-market strategies and operational efficiency.

You will answer key questions about the business by applying sound technical analysis and effectively communicate these insights with sales and executive leadership. * Establish a solid foundation for data management in the sales operations team that will enable efficient, accurate, consistent and timely reporting
* Produce ad-hoc analyses that will aid sales teams in understanding customer sales behavior through employee sales results, and subsequently drive sales strategy
* Building and automating reporting against our key sales objectives and KPI's
* Provide subject matter expertise on data resources and tools
* Work with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Marketing, HR, IT etc.) to drive alignment on business goals
* Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing meaningful data, leading analyses and developing final recommendations


* Ability to produce timely and quality data deliverables, with a knack for visualization and/or process design
* A well-established personal process to handle multiple and simultaneous requests from various dynamic partners
* Self-motivated and driven by the purpose outlined above
* Eager to take initiative at TDS in understanding how to run an efficient sales organization, willing to go deep and learn from co-workers about this aspect of the industry


Required Qualifications

* Pursuing or completed Associate's Degree (or higher) in quantitative or analytical major (i.e. finance, mathematics, stats, IT or related field etc.) -OR- 2 years of combined education and work experience
* Ability to complete all working hours onsite at our offices at 525 Junction Rd. Madison, WI 53717
* Ability to commit to a minimum of 15 hours during the academic year to be completed during the hours of M-F 8-5pmCT

Other Qualifications

* Experience with SQL and/or a strong willingness to learn
* Experience with or willing to learn Business Intelligence and Data Analytics tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Oracle R, Python, and/or SAP Business Objects)
* Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Access, and Excel
* Database development experience
