Job Description

Role:

The Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Consulting and Process Design and will be responsible for the following:

* Execute problem solving, issue identification, and performance improvement initiatives for TDA
* Responsible for scoping basic problems, contributing to issue identification & solution design
* Collaborate with teams to build hypothesis sets, analyses, and roadmaps for solutions
* Interact with process-level owners to gather data and assess operating environment to assist in quantifying opportunities
* Will participate in subject matter expert (SME) interviews and will contribute to client presentations
* Support in developing analyst-level team members, including providing informal feedback, contributing to formal evaluations, and serving as a mentor
* Individual task ownership to assist in keeping initiatives on track
* Up to 40% travel required

Responsibilities:

* Facilitate and coach business partners on implementation and sustainability of the Lean Management System (LMS)
* Facilitate and coach business partners through the full problem solving process: problem definition, analysis, solution success measurement, collaboration, delivery
* Play a critical role in execution of broad process improvement initiatives and performance improvement opportunities
* Provide analytical support for ongoing improvement efforts (structuring analysis, developing an approach, acquiring the data, performing the analysis, presenting the results and insights ("the so what") in a clear and concise manner (in written and verbal communications)
* Significant focus on analytical capabilities related to being able to assess process / system capabilities, performance and improvement targets
* Support process improvement efforts through analytics - data capture; quantitative and qualitative analysis
* Support the effective implementation of process improvement proposals
* Actively drive and own project management responsibilities to ensure defined objectives and goals are met for select transformational projects and efforts that may or may not span multiple functions
* Deliver engagement results as part of broader execution team
* Facilitate medium to small scale meetings managing logistics, content development and achievement of defined objectives
* Build and sustain relationships with process owners and management to understand their issues, get buy in for improvement opportunities and execute recommendations
* Engage with managers and teams to get buy in and engagement
* Continuously drive skill and knowledge development through forums, reading/research, best practice sharing and Lean in Action visits
* Coach and guide more junior members of the team
* Be able to lead and structure the deployment of LMS within a functional area
* Provide guidance and coaching to partners within the business responsible for ongoing sustainment

Requirements:

* Experience in strategy and/or process improvement consulting or process design within a service organization
* Experience in Financial Services highly preferred, but not required
* Must demonstrate the ability to identify key issues, gather data to investigate those issues and develop actionable recommendations.
* Must be highly analytical with experience defining analytical approaches for engagements and applying a range of analytical tools to synthesize insights and develop solutions
* Should be flexible in work style and be able to appropriately deploy, mentor, and develop junior talent within the team
* Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to shift message delivery and style based on audience or agenda
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and adjust execution plans as needed to ensure success of the goals for a project
* Comfortable working with the ambiguous while driving toward clarity
* Able to work effective with sensitive topics
* Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and mapping systems/process/value streams
* Proficient with Excel & PowerPoint
* Familiarity with statistical tools and software i.e.; Minitab, SPSS
* Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
* 4 year college degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or business related field
* 6-8 years' experience with top level management consulting firm or an internal consulting team
* Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
