Job Description

Manufacturing Manager

Taconic, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of PTFE-coated fiberglass fabric, belts, tapes and electrical laminates, seeks an experienced and motivated candidate to join our team as a Manufacturing Manager in Petersburgh, NY. The successful candidate will lead a manufacturing organization dedicated to technical innovation and best-in-class customer service.

Responsibilities Include: Coaching, mentoring, and developing department leaders. Achieving production, new product introduction, quality, and EHS objectives. Developing and implementing capital improvement plans, staff changes, organizational capabilities, and lean manufacturing initiatives. Managing the interface between the production departments and other teams. Establish and maintain procedures and practices for the efficient operation of production departments in an ISO9001-registered organization, including work instructions, best practices, and staff training programs. Lead and participate in troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, reduce nonconformances, A Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering or a related discipline or suitable manufacturing-related experience. Experience with coating processes, PTFE manufacturing or web handling is a plus.

Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with 4 years of management experience. Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with the desire and ability to prioritize and adapt, based on customer requirements. Good observational skills and comfort with data-supported decision making are essential to support a results-oriented approach to evaluating processes to achieve production metrics. The ability to manage change and implement initiatives is critical. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills are essential.
