Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes has the following opportunities available in our Corporate Office in Petersburgh, NY:

Chemical Process Engineer

A Chemical Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for PTFE coating fiberglass, cast film production, lamination, mix/formulation, lead process improvement activities, and transitioning new products to production for both Industrial and Dielectric materials.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing or a related discipline is required; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have experience with polymer coatings or colloidal systems, as well as a minimum of three years previous process engineering experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and production operators will be vital to success in this role.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve in a scientific manner, and have a basic understanding of statistical analysis and methods.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point is necessary as well as experience with Minitab statistical software.

The successful candidate must be able to adapt to changing priorities and be able to work independently and as a team member in completing daily tasks and assignments.

Maintenance Mechanic 3rd shift

  • A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for keeping production machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems in operating condition.
  • Associates degree in Mechanical Maintenance or related, or four years of equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to determine causes of operating errors and develop appropriate resolution.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and electrical is essential. Knowledge of machines and tools, including power and hand tools and volt/ohm meters is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize based on changing work conditions.
