Job Description

Responsibilities include: manage, conduct, coordinate, and oversee lean manufacturing and lean enterprise activities and efforts. Lead process improvement (and subsequently, process design) teams to rigorously apply the Six Sigma, Lean process improvement and design methodologies, and achieve business result. Lead company's effort in automation. Requires an active role in new product development, product updates and improvements to ensure manufacturability. Strong problem solving ability is required. Requires active participation in team and cross-functional meetings.


  1. Interpret complex drawings and specification. Must also clearly communicate verbally and in writing these requirements to production.
  2. Train and mentor associates on the fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing, Six sigma techniques, 5S, Kaizen and how they can be incorporated into our environment.
  3. Lead the implementation of continuous flow and pull system concepts within manufacturing. Process improvement projects (eg, Lean Kaizen events).
  4. Set up cells and Kanban system for high volume lines. Work closely with purchasing to set up parts on a pull system (Kanban) from our suppliers.
  5. Produce value stream maps for product lines and business processes.
  6. Assist in new product development with ability to investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials.
  7. Assist with planning equipment layout for maximum workplace efficiency.
  8. Assist in specifying and acquiring manufacturing equipment.
  9. Assist in estimating production time, staffing requirements, and related costs.

10.Work individually, as well as with team and cross functional team members to solve problems, improve processes and aid in decision making.

11. Maintain accurate records and documentation.

12. Develop and initiates in-process inspection to ensure production of a consistently high quality products.

13. Recommend changes in policies, procedures and processes and provides documentation as required.

14.This person will be a member of a team responsible for completing objective, internal audits of ISO 9 quality management system.

15. Initiate PAR and CAR as needed.

16.Investigate and completes PAR and CAR .

17. Comply and assist with all requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and the pursuit of continuous improvement.

18.Improve space utilization and workflow.

19.Complete special assignments as requested by Management

20.Complete time study on docks and create routing and enter std time and complete backflushing so costing can be established at initial release of part numbers.

21. Determine packaging method for new docks so it is ready for first production run, design (solidworks) and 3D print mold insert and make insert box.

22.Design (solidworks) and make any assembly fixtures required in production assembly.

23.Determine assembly breakdown and create method drawings (using Excel) for assemblers to follow, update as necessary when engineering changes (PCN's) occur.

24.Complete PCN's and workflows in a timely fashion to support other departments and manufacturing.


  1. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  2. 3 years of work experience in manufacturing/assembly environment.
  3. Must have experience in an ISO 9001:2015 environment. Previous quality auditing/certification experience preferred
  4. Six Sigma Green Belt certified
  5. Experience in automation preferred
  6. Proficiency in using Extend or any other simulation software required
  7. Proficiency in solidworks or 3D modelling software
  8. Experience in Kanban, Lean, Six Sigma methodology and applications required
  9. Must be self-motivated and possess good written and oral communication skills, especially in documenting evaluation results
