Job Description

The Sales Engineer is responsible for seeking quoting and closing new business opportunities very often in new technologies while maintaining existing business base and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely processing of requests for, samples, prints, specs, and other documents as required.


  • Prompt/accurate quote response by compiling complete information (eg specifications, drawings, marketing comparisons, etc.) necessary from various departments to quote customers.

  • Issue Sales releases authorizing actions to put projects/parts into production.

  • Confirm purchase order is correct to quote and resolve any pricing disputes/discrepancies.

  • Maintain/expand existing business revenue.

  • Seek and close out new business opportunities

  • Create and develop strong customer relationships.

  • Successfully manage all commercial aspects of existing accounts and programs.

  • Strong focus on implementing new technologies to the Automotive market.

  • Assist, support and lead department personnel in duties that affect customer satisfaction through delivery of material and Information including customer service.

  • Preparation of various correspondence, forms and reports, internal and external, to this department including the use of SAP Business Connector and Business Warehouse.

  • Track and report status of quoting and new business opportunities.

  • Create and present customer presentations.

  • Work on various cost reduction and fact-finding committee teams.

  • Coordinate requisition of material for sample parts.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical is required.

  • Must have 3+ years sales experience in the automotive industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of Electro-Mechanical devices, electrical or electronic components is highly preferred.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings is required.

  • Good command of the English language both written and oral.

  • Basic working knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required. Experience working with SAP is preferred.

  • General understanding of manufacturing procedures.
