Job Description

Synergis is seeking a Product Development Manager that will join a global leader in gas phase (chemical) filtration technology.

Our products and solutions are targeted towards providing superior levels of Indoor Air Quality in a variety of environments including but not limited to oil & gas; water treatment; heavy manufacturing; electronics & semiconductor manufacturing; data centers; transportation; mining; commercial offices; restaurants & food service; galleries, museums, archives & libraries - for corrosion protection, odor control, health and preservation applications.

Summary

The Product Development Manager will be accountable for Project Management and Technical Product Development reporting to the Director of Product Marketing and Strategy. This individual will work cross-functionally to establish and manage the portfolio and project plans incorporating deliverables from several functional areas, including R&D, engineering, marketing, IT and others. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for developing new products, project management, and who are comfortable in a role where they influence and provide leadership without having direct authority. The Product Development Manager is a best practices consultant to the project leaders, suggesting to that person the most efficient path for project execution and applying relevant project management tools while adhering to the standard stage-n-gate processes.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the project portfolio planning and management including interface and coordination with executive management team
Analysis of competitive products, including an understanding of IP, patent, and technology protection
Communication with internal stakeholders in a Matrix based organization, as well as directly with customers, to define performance requirements, set goals, and to solve problems/find solutions.
Ability to interface with suppliers for the purposes of design, manufacturing, and raw material review
Leads the team in using project management best practices and tools
Responsible for capacity planning (resource forecasting) for existing and potential development projects
Facilitates defining project scope, goals and deliverables
Plans, schedules and monitors project tasks and timelines
Facilitates identifying and monitoring project risks and mitigation plans
Supports or acts as the project leader in managing project changes and interventions
Facilitates project evaluations and assessments of results
Facilitates portfolio & project reviews; Maintains and provides portfolio reports, Facilitates gate reviews

Skills and Experience

Experience Earned Value Management, Requirements Management, Financial/Budgeting Acumen
Experience & ability to work effectively in cross-functional Matrix environment
Min. 3-5 years' experience developing business cases to support project justification
Min. 5-7 years of Product Management/Product development experience
Decision making, problem solving and analytical capabilities
Excellent written, verbal communicating and presentation skills
Experience with Agile principles and methods
Successful track record of taking Physical products from idea phase to product launch
Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Project, and/or Excel®
PMP Certification or equivalent - preferred
Experience in Filtration/Sensor IoT/Chemical Market a plus
Travel Percentage: 25 - 35%

Education

Bachelor or Master degree in business or engineering (MBA a plus) with +5 years' experience.
