Director of Information Services
Birmingham, AL 35222

The Director of Information Services position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Information Services (IS) department in order to serve business needs.
Manufacturing experience highly desired. Need someone that has managed an ERP transition project - could take at least 3 years

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide secure, reliable, available, and stable business systems in a way that balances service level needs, risk management, and cost optimization.
Work with OMS leadership to align and shape IS in order to serve current business needs and strategies.
Actively partner with business areas in analysing problems and opportunities, and where called for, deliver IT-related solutions that help achieve business objectives.
Lead the IS team, creating a culture and work ethic that enables and supports the business in sales growth, productivity improvements, and cost efficiencies.
Drive IS in a way that establishes priorities, sets responsibilities and accountability, and drives project plans to successful completion.
Lead and direct all IS areas through subordinate and partner management, including infrastructure, production control, application support and development, business system analysis, and project delivery.
Oversee IS policies and procedures, technical standards, methods, and priorities.
Direct day-to-day management of IS plans, projects, performance, and related matters.
Stay abreast of new information and communication technologies and determine their applicability to the organization's long-term needs and goals.
Develop and manage relationships and performance with technology and outsource service providers.
Work with OMS leadership to plan and account for the IS and technology budget.
Facilitate and participate in strategic planning and champion appropriate initiatives.
Work with the President and CFO regarding all capital expenditure requests for approval.
Ensure any Internal or External Audit findings are corrected timely and appropriately.
Lead continuous improvement in all IS areas.

REQUIRED: To qualify for consideration an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.

Education and Language Skills;
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related discipline.

above average written and verbal communication skills

Prior Experience:
5+ years of formal Information Services leadership with staffing, outsource service management, and budget management responsibilities
5+ years in technology contract negotiations
5+ years in project management
Business system implementation project delivery

Special training/experience: Strong PC skills with excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook knowledge.

Travel Requirements: Some travel may be required as-needed to meet business and department needs.

Experience:
3-5 years in manufacturing systems environment
3-5 years in systems integration
Oracle EnterpriseOne ecosystem

Education: Masters of Information Services or Business Administration
