Overview Production Manager is involved with the planning, coordination and final production of all print and digital materials. Ensures that materials are produced efficiently, ensuring that the final creative is delivered on time, cost effective, and with a high level of quality.
Description of Duties• Start to finish production management of projects to include selecting vendors, developing specs, estimates and timelines; write vendor purchase orders, process honorarium, process check requests, invoice reconciliation and ensure digital and print vendor files meet specifications. Attend press checks (as needed). Ensure projects reach their final destinations on time and on budget
• Works closely with agency team: Creative, Account Management, Traffic, and client vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality creative product is consistent with company and client standards
• Manages execution of media plans and provides specs to creative for ROB journal ad insertions and specs to print vendors for inserts; sends final materials to all publications. Sourcing and procurement of journal reprints
• Proficient in securing usage rights and permissions for charts, graphs or figures based on citations provided by medical director or editorial departments
• Keeping abreast of innovative ideas and solutions before they become "main stream"
• Works hand-in-hand with Creative and Account Services to best execute creative's vision
• Develops the ability to foresee potential production challenges or issues in advance; heads off problems and has a sound contingency plan in place
• Leads and participates in client status calls, client meetings, and agency partner meetings
• Builds strong internal and external relationships
• Participates in creative brainstorming sessions, creative planning and the coordination of internal or client requested creative and/or strategic meetings and events; purchase and produce materials for such meetings
• Fluent in stock art buying; responsible for purchasing and managing usage rights for stock photography and stock illustrations
• Purchasing and coordinating photography shoots, creation of custom artwork and purchase of external CGI/retouching work
• Partners with Account Services to monitor and ensure agency hours and vendor costs are tracking against client approved estimate or SOW
• Partners with production team to develop operational and process improvements as needed
• Partners with Account Services to develop comprehensive, accurate and detailed scope documents
• Participates in New Business opportunities or other special projects as requested
• Develop/produce convention booth traffic builders, large format convention booth graphics, and videos/content for digital displays
Minimum Requirements• Minimum experience of 7 years ; 12+ years (preferred)
• College degree (preferred)
