Job Description Summary:

To direct and nurture customer relationships regarding proper implementation of mass timber systems in the commercial construction market, including interfacing with customers, architects, engineers, and preconstruction peers with proper system selection for mass timber structural systems, mechanical systems, exterior enclosures, and sustainability performance.

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Relations:

* Develop and maintain client relationships
* Lead client tours of Swinerton Mass Timber projects
* Meet and provide technical marketing and education to potential clients and AEC community
* Develop technical leadership in the mass timber industry
* Respond to requests for industry letters of support, including grant applications

Business Development:

* Identify, develop and pursue potential project opportunities
* Develop sales goals, future targets, and strategies for Operations Group
* Maintain new business files through Cosential (CRM Software), including opportunity forms
* Support national Swinerton divisions in the pursuit of mass timber projects, including nationwide travel as needed to support any Swinerton office and/or AEC event
* Prepare presentations and present on technical topics regarding system integration with mass timber structures and similar topics of an interesting technical nature
* Attend mass timber industry events, conferences and meetups to maintain and build our reputation as a thought leader in the mass timber industry
* Project Go/No-Go assessment, with support and input from Mass Timber Preconstruction Manager, Director, and Operations
* Prepare presentations, brochures, and other communications materials
* Oversee Mass Timber Marketing Coordinator in cooperation with the Marketing Manager

Preconstruction & Design Development:

* Prepare and submit project proposals and prepare project team for interviews
* Participate in preconstruction services to current and prospective clients as applicable
* Perform contract reviews and assist in contract negotiations as requested
* Engage in feasibility studies for new customers and provide technical dialogue
* Involve Mass Timber Preconstruction Manager once projects become viable jobs, and lead transition to Preconstruction phase.
* Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

* Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree desirable.
* 5 years - experience in technical marketing, preferably in the construction industry
* Knowledge of fee structure and contract forms
* Knowledge of mass timber construction industry and market
* Contract negotiating skills
* Ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations
* Effective interpersonal skills
* Excellent English language verbal and written communications skills
