Identify driver trailer solutions; proactively seek out trailer availability opportunities and manage through strategic repositioning and customer communication, minimizing costs associated with bobtail miles and driver dwell time.

  1. Strategically provide trailer solutions through effective dispositioning of trailers and/or drivers; minimize driver dwell time and bobtail miles when empty and without a trailer.
  2. Assist in driving trailer pool balance; establish trailer balance percentage targets by market and provide strategic solutions for maintaining trailer pool targets. Act as liaison between customer service, sales, and planning on the strategic creation of new trailer pools, and trailer pool adjustments ensuring pool size meets company trailer turn objectives. Coordinate positioning of trailer assets based on new trailer, purchased trailers or trade agreements while maintaining target trailer pools.
  3. Review and address trailer solution exceptions with appropriate customer service leaders and/or sales leadership to reduce rework and drive better trailer pool accuracy.
  4. Audit auto-trailer assignment for accuracy and provide feedback to leadership on failed auto-assignment recommendations in effort to drive continuous improvement in auto-trailer assignment.
  5. Identify high trailer dwell opportunities and provide communication to customer service, sales and customer in order to drive trailer utilization improvement.
  6. Responsible for maintenance of customer location positioning (geo-fencing) to ensure accuracy of customer locations in relation to available trailers driving efficiency in the trailer solutions model.
  7. Oversee all other trailer management issues involving the recovery of abandoned, towed, damaged and or missing trailers in assigned region; assist in routing damaged equipment to shop for rapid repair.
  8. Responsible for ensuring trailer project requirements are being met by agreed upon timelines.
  9. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Education Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college preferred.

Experience -   One to two (1-2) years of operations, customer service or driving experience, preferably within the transportation industry.
