Tire Technician levels are selected based upon the following:

1 MTR - Requires basic knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance.  Experience with tires and/or heavy equipment preferred.

2 MTR - Two (2) years of heavy equipment/mechanic related experience.  

3 MTR - Three (3) years of heavy equipment/mechanic related experience. 

To perform thorough tire, wheel, and rim inspections and related repairs on equipment owned or operated by Swift Transportation as directed by supervisor.
  1. Perform basic diagnosis and repairs of the tractor/trailer fleet for tires, wheels, and rims.
  2. Completion all necessary Tire Department tags and work orders.
  3. Identify tire construction, types of tire wear, and various tire damage types. Ensure all tires are within specified pressure range, tread depths are measured and recorded, and Out of Service conditions are reported.
  4. Assist in the moving of equipment in/out of the Tire Shop and around the yard.
  5. Move, sort, load, unload, mount, and dismount tires for inventory and inspection purposes.
  6. Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  7. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  8. Perform additional duties as directed by leadership

Skills - Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills; valid drivers license; ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders; computer keyboarding; ability to lift/move tractor/trailer tires as needed (100+ lbs).

Education - High School Diploma GED or graduation from trade/techinical school preferred. Additional technical school education may substitute for required experience. Drivers license required.

Experience -   Requires basic knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance. Experience with tires and/or heavy equipment preferred.

Position Location - Cleburne, TX

Job Type:  Full -Time Regular

Shift:  8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Schedule:  Monday - Friday
