Job Description

Primary Function: Responsible for buying and selling freight in a dynamic environment; respond to Swift's capacity requirements and network while ensuring adherence to company processes and procedures.

Description:
Overall responsibility for Swift Solutions Brokerage requirements on both, the buy and sell, sides, including but not limited to, on-boarding, pricing (Linehaul, Dedicated Brokerage and Intermodal), operations, billing, IT and reporting. Balance the needs of the Swift network using multi-modal assets.
Act as main liaison between customer and Swift; resolve arising issues, compile required reporting and identify and pursue additional opportunities.
Coordinate and arrange the buy from outside carriers to ensure timely pick up and delivery for Swift as well as all customer facilities; facilitate communication and manage the interface between the customers' plant transportation personnel and head office. Properly integrate customer transportation strategies of those which are considered within the formulation of Swift strategies.
Collaborate with designated department personnel to ensure customers' shipping needs are met; coordinate daily linehaul schedules, ensure shipments are planned, equipment is fully utilized, appropriate amount of equipment is adequately placed in a timely manner and customers' satisfaction and expectations are met successfully.
Collaborate and correspond with third parties vendors as necessary to ensure successfully completed transactions and movement of freight.
Identify opportunities for improvement through the review and utilization of various company reports as well as through the collaboration with designated department personnel.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations; present a quality oriented image where the carrier and Swift's operations are treated in a consistent, courteous and efficient manner, so that the impression is one of excellence.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership; perform site and carrier visits as necessary, which may require travel.

Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in AS400 functions as well as MS Office Suite tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage others, organize work for self and others; good interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to communicate well with others and transfer knowledge; possess above average public speaking, negotiation, time management, writing and organizational skills; ability to know, understand and enforce company policies; maintain a professional appearance.

Education Required: High School diploma or GED with some college preferred. Each higher level of education achieved may be considered for substitute of each one year of required experience.

Experience Required: Two (2) years previous leadership experience required and a minimum of two (2) years experience as a CSR, Planner or Driver Leader.

About Swift Transportation Co., Inc.

Swift Transportation Co., Inc., a subsidiary of Swift Corporation, is a truckload carrier that operates a fleet of truckload carrier equipment. In January 2001, the Company expanded its operations through an agreement with Cardinal Freight Carriers Inc., a van and flatbed carrier based in North Carolina. Under the agreement, Swift Transportation hired a number of Cardinal Freight's drivers and subleased a number of tractors from Cardinal Freight. On December 11, 2000 Swift Transportation and M.S. Carriers, Inc. announced an agreement to merge, in which M.S. Carriers will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Swift Transportation. The merger was completed in June 2001. On May 10, 2007, Swift Transportation Co., Inc. completed its merger with Saint Acquisition Corporation, a subsidiary of Saint Corporation and a corporation formed by Swift's founder, Jerry Moyes.
