CAR Financial Manager - Governance-W442951

Description

The Capital Adequacy and Resolution (CAR) team has an immediate need for a Financial Manager. The CAR team is situated within Corporate Treasury and is primarily responsible for managing the Bank's Capital Stress Testing processes and Resolution Planning submissions. The Financial Manager will have the significant responsibility of assisting with the preservation and reporting of process governance surrounding these high profile projects. This includes, but is not limited to, the tracking of internal controls, the review and challenge of results, and presentation of these components to business partners and executives across the organization. This position will provide opportunities for exposure to key banking concepts and staff, and requires the ability to organize concepts efficiently and present oneself clearly and professionally.

Tied directly to SunTrust's purpose, the Capital Adequacy & Resolution ("CAR") Team ensures SunTrust can remain a fully functional financial intermediary for our clients even in the darkest of times, when their need for a Well Lit Path to Financial Well-Being will be greatest. This is accomplished through semi-annual stress testing and capital planning exercises as well as the development of SunTrust's "living will" or resolution plan.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with the project execution of the CCAR and DFAST processes,
• Track controls and process challenges and follow up on remediation efforts.
• Coordination of all business partners and affiliated working groups,
• Assist in the annual development of the Capital Plan and Resolution Plan,
• Assist in the development of executive and board level reporting of the plans.
• Creating presentation materials for dissemination to senior executives within the bank, rating agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Interpreting highly complex policies, laws, regulations.
• Leading/assisting with the presentation of financial projections and inventory of financial data associated with Resolution Planning submissions.
• Leading/assisting with ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must. The ability to lead or assist with financial analytics and synthesize findings into succinct presentations under tight timeframes is a core competency for this role.
• Preferably at least three years of work experience within a corporate finance/corporate treasury role.
• Proven ability to lead projects and work autonomously with little to no supervision and superior attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work well across functions/business lines within a large organization.

Additional Qualifications

• Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business, or other quantitative discipline is a plus.
• Relevant industry credentials such as CFA, CPA, FRM, etc. are a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Essbase.
• Knowledge of applicable banking capital and modeling regulations (SR 15-19 and SR 11-07).
