Digital Product Owner - SunTrust.com-W442089


The Product Owner is a key member of an agile team and will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to shape vision, strategy and product implementation. The Product Owner is responsible for gaining an understanding of the business need, working with multi-disciplinary teams to develop stories, managing a backlog, and work with technical teams to deliver features that rapidly deliver business value and meet the goals of the company. The Product Owner will primarily be focused on delivering solutions that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to define the project vision and effectively communicate the vision to the agile team.
- Participate in product strategy discussions as needed
- Provide a business perspective on value during day-to-day development
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to define product requirements and transform them into user stories
- Proactively manage and prioritize a backlog containing features, enhancements and defects, along with appropriate user acceptance criteria
- Using feedback from stakeholders, full accountability and authority for prioritizing the backlog according to business value, complexity, and expectations
- Be the primary resource for questions about the details of the product for the team through interaction with internal resources, customers and stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements
- Collaborate with the development team to define, design, accept and adapt features
- Coordinate communication between development team and stakeholders regarding goals, requirements and business needs
- Ensure each iteration delivers working software and each release is a minimally viable set of features
- Experience in preparing for product/release launches with appropriate communication to stakeholders and customer-facing teams such as customer service, marketing and product support, etc.
- Ability to understand complex business needs and translating them into detailed, executable functional requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor technical projects from initiation through delivery.


Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to understand big picture concepts and break them down into detail needed to implement them
- Ability to distinguish between necessary features and desirable features, and plan accordingly
- Ability to translate business and technical goals into small, testable releases
- Ability to pick up technical and business concepts quickly
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to tailor communication to the intended audience (i.e., executives vs. developers)
- Respect for multiple perspectives (e.g., user vs. engineering vs. business)
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and lead collaboration across matrixed teams
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple features, projects, and business demands at one time

Knowledge, Education, Certification, Licenses:

- BS/BA degree in IT, Technology or similar field required; MBA preferred
- SCRUM Certified Product Owner (CSPO) a plus
- Agile development methodology experience is essential
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques
- Excellent product delivery skills with at least 3-5 years as an Agile Product owner.
- Agile process experience in organizing and guiding teams to succeed.
- Knowledge of user experience design and/or demonstrated influence on improved UX.
- Experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
- Experience with web and mobile applications.
- Experience working with brand new applications or legacy applications.
- Experience working with a remote team.
- Familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation server.

Skills and Abilities:

- Coordinate and monitor technical projects from initiation through delivery.
- Ability to act as the project lead and key stakeholder.
- Good skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation
- Skilled in writing customer-centric documentation (user stories/Use Cases/features/requirements) for the product backlog.
- Ability to translate and articulate business needs into software requirements/User Stories
- Experience in preparing for product/release launches with appropriate communication to stakeholders and customer-facing teams such as customer service, marketing and product support, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Strong presentation and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and diagnostic skills.
- Business and technical savvy.
- Ability to work closely with technical leads, engineering teams and architecture stakeholders for technical issues, architectural considerations and engineering assessment of product goals.
