Business Project Manager-Student Lending-W441938


Manage various processes required in the LOB related to multiple 3rd party suppliers, multiple student loan programs and internal processes needed to support Student Lending portfolio management.

Manages assigned business processes. Is responsible for oversight, accuracy, and procedural analysis for adherence to contracts, regulations, error detection and process improvements. Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolves operational problems; identifies work process improvements. Work processes may require both written and verbal interaction with external clients, other business areas of the Bank and external 3rd party suppliers. Quality Control acumen will be needed to analyze and detect process inefficiencies and operational gaps, and to coordinate needed resolutions working within Education Lending, other business areas of the bank and with external 3rd party suppliers. Producing timely and accurate reports for other LOB's in the bank, 3rd party suppliers and LOB management. Once assigned by management, work is generally self-directed, stemming from LOB processes, from 3rd party supplier operations and interfacing with other LOBs. Working independently and applying independent judgment is expected and allowed within certain operational boundaries. Cannot make independent exceptions to established policy.

May be assigned other projects that support the line of business, using analytical and QC skillsets

Maintains knowledge of changes within the LOB, in the industry, bank policies and 3rd party supplier practices that may impact assigned business processes and be able to apply changes to existing processes where needed. Monitor industry developments for application related to 3rd party supplier practices.


Required: Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a business unit, where adherence to regulations and company policies is important. Experience in project teams, partnership with other management of specific segments of work, and with direct accountability for results. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to construct own work processes to achieve desired results. Above average knowledge of MS Excel.

Ability to work with moderately complex projects, apply analytical skills when working with data, and in determining adherence to contractual and regulatory adherence. Understands and can adhere to principles of best practices. Above average proficiency in MS Excel, as well as proficiency in MS Word. Must be able to exercise judgment and manage effective problem resolution. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work without close supervision. Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with varying levels of internal staff and management, as well as with clients, and external 3rd party suppliers.

Preferred: Four-year college degree. Knowledge of federal and/or private student loan administration.

Knowledge of database management application such as ACCESS is highly desirable.
