Description

Reporting to head of Debit, Networks & Emerging Payments, the Card Network Product Manager will be charged with the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the card networks, including MasterCard, Visa, and the debit/ATM networks. This includes managing these critical partner relationships to monitor network performance and economics and evaluate related services and solutions that can enhance and/or complement our products. Close coordination with other resources such as Finance, Card Ops, Fraud, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Customer Care, and at times, Marketing and Strategy partners is required to ensure successful delivery.

Position Responsibilities

1. Partner Management and Oversight

- Manages the business relationship for MasterCard, Visa, and debit/ATM networks. This includes contract and amendment negotiations, financial impacts of KPI achievement, SLA's, and escalation path for internal resources

- Close collaboration with partners to effectively manage and spend support resources

- Will require ongoing assessment and synthesis of relevant insight (data) sources

2. Capability Management

- Defines capabilities that will enhance our products by leveraging solutions provided by the networks

- Performs evaluation of network mandated and optional items in partnership with key stakeholders to help prioritize implementations

- Articulates the unique value proposition of existing and emerging capabilities based on a deep understanding of industry, market trends, competitive threats, the voice of customer, and analytics

3. Performance measurement and monitoring

- Monitoring and responding to key analytical insights and industry developments which impact bank relationships and network management

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (beyond personal attributes above)

- Preferably direct responsibility for managing network relationships at an issuer or alternatively related experience with a card network

- Prior responsibility driving results in a matrixed environment

- Experience in vendor management/contract negotiation

- 7+ years of banking/financial services experience

- Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA

- Experience in a related discipline, e.g., consulting, marketing, or sales management

- Prior industry level participation (advisory boards, standards committees, working groups etc.)
