Financial Systems Analyst-W441653


The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation and use of all cost allocation methodology within the Company's various financial reporting systems. The cost allocation framework supports many business needs including profitability reporting for business units, clients, products and accounts. This information is used to drive or inform management accountability, planning, pricing, and analysis.

Among other responsibilities, the Cost Analyst will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results
• Work closely with and support the Technology costing team in the development and generation of all information
• Ability to function within various cost system frameworks supporting standard and forecast unit costs, variance reporting, maintenance activities, operational metrics and analysis
• Support the processing cycles across multiple scenarios including Actual, Plan and Forecast
• Ability to leverage costing technology resources including Essbase (Smartview), Hyperion Planning and Profitability applications, and Oracle Financial Services applications both from a business perspective as well as at times from a technical support aspect
• Support costing techniques that are aligned to drive business value and facilitate buyer/seller dialogue for effective cost management
• Assist in operational support deliverables to ensure the costing infrastructure is current and aligned with ongoing organizational changes impacting processing and reporting deliverables
• Remain knowledgeable about industry standard and best in class cost allocation methodologies and usage; incorporating into SunTrust processes where appropriate
• Participate in change management and testing activities to ensure reliable results
• Other duties will be assigned as the business/department evolves


Basic Qualifications:

• BS or BA and extensive experience in the financial services industry are required.
• Excellent financial analytic skills, verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex financial concepts to key clients in a concise and useful manner.
• Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment is required
• Ability to interpret financial and non-financial information into business improvement ideas required. Interpret and analyze cost information and apply to business needs.
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• 5+ years in the financial industry
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• Requires an independent thinker and someone willing to drive engagement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SunTrust business lines, organizational structure and our existing business processes is preferred. MBA and/or equivalent degree is an advantage.
• HPCM, Essbase, and OFSAA experience and advanced Excel skills.
• MBA, ABC and cost methodology proficiency a plus
