Job Description

Marketing Systems & Procedures Analyst - Delivery Efficiency-W441379

Description

This role exists to increase productivity and strengthen controls around marketing execution; and, to enable better, faster, cheaper production by the Marketing organization.

Leverage operational best practices across the company. This includes mapping, documentation, training, and system usage auditing, to optimize cycle times, efficiency, productivity and other key company metrics.

Partner with Marketing's delivery teams and analytics teams to identify opportunities for higher productivity (end-to-end, from ideation & intake through launch). Observe & understand "pain points", develop ideas, translate them into proposals and prioritize them into actionable steps.

Partner with Marketing finance team on administering the budgeting & expense for marketing projects. Execute key management controls to maintain compliance.

Engage with other functional areas on hand-off points. (Currently Digital/Adobe, Online Banking, Sourcing/Ariba, Compliance, Legal). Design & monitor SLAs. Identify and make the case for process improvement, integration, etc.

Monitor & analyze delivery / execution. Generate marketing process workflow dashboards, provide key operating metrics, prepare reports and analysis while keeping management informed.

Routinely produce information that provides transparency to key happenings within Marketing. Gather information, make observations & assessments, and boil them down to slides, memos or executive updates.

Partner with Marketing analytics team to strengthen key marketing performance metrics. Gain an understanding of what the analysts are seeing, "connect the dots" with other happenings in marketing or the business.

Build (simple) tools that help delivery teams strengthen controls. Excel, forms, etc.

Serve as backup manager of the work management tool (Aprimo).

Core Responsibilities:

• Business Analysis - Gathering requirements of a work process, documenting design, analyzing gaps, interviewing users (in & beyond the function), diagraming process flows, own the docs
• Portfolio Planning - Proactively developing a pipeline of projects and negotiating timing, resource attention and results expectations with senior managers across Marketing
• Architecture Acumen - Understand Marketing's capabilities and tools, make observations and recommendations for improvements that deliver improvements in cost, quality & speed
• Broad Perspective - Understand function's many processes sufficiently enough to make recommendations. Seek comparable scenarios with other functions to enable benchmarking
• Executive Reporting - Synthesizing data, and summarizing key insights and performance indicators for senior leadership audience consumption.

Qualifications

College degree. 7+ years of post-college work experience, preferably in a marketing or other revenue-generating or client-delivery production environment. MBA a plus.

Working knowledge of marketing creative development, campaign production procedures, digital marketing and marketing automation platforms.

Advanced use of Microsoft Office. Logical formula use in Excel, formatting & data visualization in PowerPoint.

Collaboration & communication skills, right use of communication channels (e-mail vs. IM vs. phone/face-to-face).

Experience in matrixed work environment - can navigate responsibilities & priorities outside of the org chart.

Balanced ability to operate in details and summarize status, issues, opportunities for appropriate audiences or management settings

Experience operating with colleagues across geographies - high effectiveness over the phone, via Skype, etc. Colleagues will be in Atlanta, Charlotte, Richmond, Orlando, Portland.

Process management (Lean/Six Sigma highly preferred)

Highly organized and structured, in self-management and in delivery/outputs. Consulting or other professional experience preferred.

Experience in finance / budget processes.

Can operate independently - synthesize opportunities into requirements, prioritize among competing demands - with little intervention from supervisor/manager

Integrated thinking, such that marketing delivery and company risk management & control needs interest with technology, agendas across Marketing.

Design thinking i.e. enable synthesizing of many ideas into big-picture view that shows a connection between business intent and execution.
