EIS Finance Manager - Allocations & Project Cost Manager-W441263

Description

The EIS Finance Manager - Allocations & Project Cost Manager (APCM) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing consolidated EIS allocations reporting and process support of LOBs, Corporate Cost Allocations, and the Company's various allocations & reporting systems. The cost allocation framework supports various business needs including allocations to business and products (profitability reporting for business units, clients, products and accounts). This information is used to drive or inform management accountability, planning, pricing, and analysis. This role will support those enterprise wide activities for EIS by partnership and alignment with EIS leadership teams and the EIS finance peers.

Among other responsibilities, the APCM will be responsible for the following:

• Determine the appropriate costing techniques that are necessary to drive business decisions and facilitate buyer/seller dialogue and effective cost management for EIS
• Provide end user support for cost information; facilitating the effective usage and interpretation of cost allocations and unit cost data across a variety of uses
• Design, participate in, and conduct activity based costing studies, benchmarking, etc.
• Serve as business owner for the implementation of new EIS allocation methodologies
• Provide thought leadership on the appropriate and effective usage of cost information to improve performance
• Remain knowledgeable about industry standard and best in class cost allocation methodologies and usage; incorporating into SunTrust processes where appropriate
• Monitor and validate the monthly billing and charge backs processes performed in the various management reporting using the EIS data/charges and communicate impacts to allocations to LOB leadership and CFOs
• Act as a the subject matter expert for EIS Finance on various project teams for cost allocation and project costing
• Support Project Cost impacts analysis and benefit tracking to business goals of projects
• Manage a small team of experienced cost accountants and analysts
• Manage/Coordinate the EIS Cost Pool Maintenance and structure to provide updates to corporate cost allocations team for restatements, adjustments, etc.

Qualifications

Required:

• BS or BA and extensive experience in support IT allocations within a financial services industry are required. The candidate must demonstrate a clear understanding of how IT and Operations costs within a financial services (bank) environment are derived and aligned to the IT projects, services, etc. as well as how those "products" translate into the overall client facing product costs of the bank. Exposure to multiple business lines and/or product groups is required.
• Excellent financial analytic skills, verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex financial concepts to key clients in a concise and useful manner.
• Ability to develop a strategic vision and articulate a tactical game plan to achieve that vision is necessary. The ability to consider various alternatives and identify the solution that will deliver the highest value added results in the context of the relevant environment is essential.
• Ability to interpret financial and non-financial information into business improvement ideas required. Interpret and analyze cost information and apply to business needs.
• The ability to translate product profitability levers from IT and Operations drivers of allocations, such that enterprise cost reductions can be demonstrated and realized.
• Strong management and staff developmental skills required
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• 7+ years in the financial industry
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• Demonstrated skill in working with executive management in developing short and long term strategies.
• Strong skill and ability to make decisions and prioritize competing initiatives.
• Requires an independent thinker and someone willing to drive engagement
• IT and Operations cost methodology expertise and proficiency (including ABC)

Preferred:

• Knowledge of SunTrust business lines, organizational structure and our existing business processes is preferred. MBA and/or equivalent degree is an advantage. Experience with Hyperion Essbase, TBM, and Apptio for cost allocations and reporting support.
• Data manipulation skills, advanced Excel skills, etc.
