The Summit Public Schools is seeking a knowledgeable, visionary, innovative, and data-driven educator to provide leadership in the areas of Special Education and Student Services. Summit is a progressive school district in a diverse community that highly values its schools and actively supports excellent educational experiences for all of its students. Therefore, the Director of Special Services must be collaborative, creative, and anxious to work together with other dedicated educators to advance and build upon district programs and services.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
1. Passion for special education and student services
2. Expertise in analyzing data and using data to drive educational decisions
3. Expertise in special education law, policy, and practices
4. Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
5. Successful experience in program planning, development, and evaluation
6. Experience as a member of a Child Study Team
7. Experience as a Special Education Supervisor
8. Valid School Administrator Certificate or eligibility required
9. Central office experience preferred
