Position Summary:

Assist in the performance of daily pharmacy tasks including but not limited to: receiving, packaging, preparing and distributing medications, IV admixtures; maintaining records; and other duties as assigned.

* Prepares and distributes medications according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
* Participates in formulary and inventory management processes
* Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department.
* Demonstrates competence required for current job title/position.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
* Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
* Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and handle stress appropriately.
* Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
* Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
* Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a way that promotes a cooperative work

environment (written and oral)

* Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of all populations served.
* Establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
* Demonstrates proficiency in required operating systems: (i.e. Meditech, Automated Dispensing Machines, Microsoft Office, packaging and compounding equipment/software, phone/voicemail system, etc.)
* Articulates knowledge and understanding of department and facility policies, procedures and systems
* Ability to lead individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering quality services in an accurate and timely manner.
* Demonstrates proficiency in basic mathematical calculations, balancing and reconciling figures, proper punctuation, and spelling and transcription.
* Demonstrates Summit Medical Center's behavioral standards of Service Excellence, Interpersonal Relations, Responsibility, and Personal commitment to HCA Code of Conduct.
* Demonstrates pride in job performance by supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the department as well as identified areas of personal and professional growth.

* Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
* Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration.
* Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate from, an accredited school of pharmacy.
