Job Description

Summit County's Building Inspection Department is currently seeking a: Permit Technician To assist in the processing of all permits for the Building Department. $17.64 - $19.40 DOE plus excellent benefits package.

Position provides administrative support for all Community Development Departments, particularly in Planning, Housing and Building Inspection. Duties will include public assistance, file/data management, permit issuance, staff support, cash handling, monthly reporting, maintenance of public information including updating website, proofing and compiling meeting materials, preparing legal notices, general clerical duties and assorted miscellaneous projects as needed.


The successful candidate will have proven abilities to work under pressure, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, superior customer service skills, attention to detail, computer experience including good working knowledge of Microsoft office, and will be organized with a willingness to learn and take on multiple tasks. Also required is a sound knowledge of office procedures, experience using and troubleshooting standard office equipment, competency in handling money, basic accounting, and reporting. Must have a minimum of one year of administrative experience.
