Job Description

Landfill Operator

Summit County is currently recruiting for a full time Landfill Operator. Performs skilled tasks in the operation and service of all associated equipment and tools needed to construct, operate, maintain or repair county landfill sites, operating heavy duty trucks hauling roll-off bins and other solid waste related trucks.

Landfill Operator I minimum qualifications: High School graduate or GED; and one year of experience in operation and maintenance of light to heavy equipment. Must possess a valid Class B Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must complete the 40 hour hazardous waste course within six months of being employed by the county.

Landfill Operator I salary range: $17.16 - $24.03 per hour.

Landfill Operator II minimum qualifications: Graduate from high school or GED; and four years of experience in operation and maintenance of medium and heavy equipment. Must possess a valid Class B (or higher) commercial driver's license and has two or more years' experience driving commercially.

Landfill Operator II salary range: $18.19 - $25.47 per hour.
