Administrative Assistant- Detentions Division Summit County Sheriff's Office. Open until filled. Equal opportunity employer.

Summit County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a well-qualified Administrative Assistant. This position performs a wide variety of administrative work, directly supporting the Detentions Division. Supports a twenty-four hour workforce that is required ensure the safety, security and orderly running of the Detention Facility, safeguards inmates health and well-being, secure and safeguard Summit County Combined Courts, including; Detentions Security Staff; Kitchen Operations; Civil; Court Security; and, Administrative Personnel.  Ensure proper data entry and accounting for inmate accounts, as well as smooth operation of vendor systems.  This is a civilian administrative position reporting directly to the Detentions Division Commander.

The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented professional with strong office, organizational, time management and communication skills. The candidate should have excellent customer service demeanor, with experience in a detentions environment, have strong written and verbal communications experience.  The candidate should have a demonstrated history of positive attitude, strong job knowledge, above average attention to detail, a history of self-motivation, and an aptitude for teaching and mentoring others.  

The candidate will be experienced and successful in managing budgets, accurately accounting for monies, working with internal and external stakeholders, and completing tasks within established timelines. The selected candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to quickly absorb and understand unfamiliar subject matter.
