Job Description


Under direct supervision, the Operations Specialist performs a variety of departmental clerical duties on a limited basis. This position requires limited knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Clerical duties will be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of the department and may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping functions, typing, office machine operation, and filing. This is an entry-level position which begins learning the basics of the specific department's functions and terminology.


* Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of certificate deposits and account requirements for TOD set up.
* Procures all required paperwork from branch personnel for complete processing of transfers.
* Assists branch personnel with inquiries regarding transfer and any required corrections.
* Ensures the security transfers processes comply with the firm's policies and practices.
* Assists other areas of the department with various functions when volume is high or staffing levels are down.
* Supports department administrative needs including imaging and indexing documents, filing reports, compiling and organizing client mailings.
* Performs other duties as assigned.


* High School diploma or equivalent
* Post-high school college coursework desired
* 1-2 years general business experience desired
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel. MS Access a plus.
* Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, managing files and records, and other standard office procedures and terminology.
* The ability to communicate information and ideas in spoken or written form so that others will understand.
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
* The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It may or may not involve actually solving the problem.
* Ability to attain understanding of rules/regulations and Stifel policies that pertain to the Operations Security Transfer department.
