Overview

Ralph L Wadsworth (RLW) Construction Company provides opportunities to learn and make application technical principles in our internship program. RLW is offering a Estimating internship in Draper, UT, where the selected intern will experience training from experienced estimators in fields such as Heavy Civil / Highway, Commercial Concrete, Bridge estimating, Concrete paving, and Piling and Shoring. Our internships are with the goal to evaluate the candidates' potential as a possible future, full-time employee.

We offer internships and opportunity to receive diversified training through on-the-job assignments using the technical skills acquired in college. Each intern will be assigned a mentor to help develop both technical and professional skills.

Responsibilities

The Intern is responsible for assisting the Estimating departments on a construction project either at a project site or divisional office. Working side by side with experienced estimators provides an excellent environment for both academic and career growth.

The intern will be responsible for assisting estimators collect data for bids, communicating with sub-contractors, calculating costs, visiting with program managers and project engineers, reviewing designs, and organizing documents, numbers, and other material for estimating bids. The intern should be proficient with Microsoft Office, have attention to detail mindset, ability to multi-task, excellent communication skills, and ability to read construction drawings are essential. Dependable transportation is required.

Qualifications

* Junior or Senior
* Minimum GPA 2.75
* Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science or Construction Management
* Past construction work experience is preferred
* Be in an office setting most (if not all) of the internship duration

Internship Work Schedule:

Summer (May - August) Monday - Friday.

730am to 5pm (working hours could be different)

Possible part time work during fall semester during school
