This announcement is for an immediate hiring need with the Human Rights Commission in Kanawha County. THE POSITION:

Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) / Human Rights Commission (HRC), Kanawha County - Incumbent performs at entry level accounting. Responsible for basic accounting tasks involving interpretation and application of policies and practices in the administrative unit in compliance with laws and regulations, as well as, national accounting/auditing standards. Capable of performing in the areas of preparing budget and budget administration; planning; audit work papers; analyze financial records such as accounts, ledgers, claims, invoices, purchase orders, receipts or similar materials; balance and reconcile accounting records; transferring and encumbering of funds, posting accounting data; records inventory/assets management; PCard; FIMS; travel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training: Bachelor's degree from an regionally accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.

Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in accounting or auditing work.

Substitutions:

(1) Master's degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience.

(2) Certification or registration as a public accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
