Job Description

Part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant. These positions are needed for the Fall 2019 semester, which begins August 2019.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants are required to hold an AAS or AS in Respiratory Therapy, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential along with a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine. Two (2) years of recent clinical experience is required. Selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening. Available Position Openings: Lecturer: RTH 226-Theory of Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care Please note: This position requires two (2) years of experience in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. Lab Instructor: RTH 110-Fundamenatal Theory and Procedures for Respiratory Care

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related health field and use of the Canvas Learning Management System is preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively to include course development, student assessment, and course evaluations is preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students. Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications is also preferred.
