Job Description

Portland State University (PSU) seeks to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic qualities of urban life by providing access to a quality liberal education for undergraduates and an appropriate array of professional and graduate programs especially relevant to the Portland metropolitan area.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides academic and administrative computer support and communications for the University.

This position exists within the Computing Infrastructure Services (CIS) department of OIT. CIS is responsible for the computing infrastructure used by faculty, staff, and students campus-wide. CIS teams architect, build, and maintain PSU's enterprise-level: server hardware, server/client operating systems, and applications. This includes the systems that run Banner ERP, Odin computer account management and authentication, Google Apps, email, web, file/print, backups, etc. CIS also manages and protects PSU's central data center which houses over 600 servers and a storage area network hosting 500+ terabytes of data.

Position Summary:
-Engineer, implement, and support enterprise middleware application solutions
-Administer enterprise Java application server environments (e.g. WebLogic and Tomcat) which house critical ERP systems/applications
-Deploy Java applications and troubleshoot deployment issues with developers
-Use DevOps principles and methodologies to enable the rapid deployment of software and services by coordinating software development, quality assurance, and IT operations (primarily focused on administrative systems such as Ellucian's Banner ERP system).
-Manage the tools associated with maintaining a Continuous Integration environment; including Jenkins, Artifactory, and Maven

A successful candidate will have experience/knowledge in some of the following:
-Oracle Middleware and Enterprise Management (WebLogic, Enterprise Manager, Grid Control, etc)
-Apache Tomcat and Oracle HTTP Server
-Familiarity with programming in a Linux/Java environment
-DevOps methodologies
-Continuous integration, and related tools such as Jenkins
-Build automation tools such as Maven and Apache Ant
-Repository management tools such as Artifactory
-Configuration management tools such as Puppet
-Version control tools such as git
-Ticketing systems such as Request Tracker (RT) or Atlassian JIRA
-Single Sign-On technologies such as CAS and Shibboleth
-Log management/analysis such as Splunk
-Database systems such as Oracle
-Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS

Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, retirement, and reduced tuition at all seven institutions within the Oregon University System. This benefit can be transferred to one dependent (i.e., spouse, domestic partner, dependent child, or domestic partner's dependent child).
