Job Description

The Department of Mental Health is seeking to hire a student intern who will assist with finalizing the Strategic Plan for Trauma Informed Approaches Task Force Activity.

The intern will work directly with Director of Recovery, Task Force Members, Area leadership, Community Stakeholders to finalize this five year strategic plan. The intern will work with department staff to identify local resources, develop Western Mass Network of community supports and providers that are accessible to DMH clients and others who are experiencing serious emotional disturbance.

The intern will also work with other DMH Area Leadership staff, and external stakeholders to organize, set up, and co-host a community conversation, to be held in mid August. In addition, the intern will attend meetings of local suicide prevention initiatives with Department staff, build resource network related to local efforts regarding suicide prevention activities.

* This internship opportunity is for a postgraduate student who must be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program at an accredited College or University.


* Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.



Period of Service:

May 28, 2019 through August 30, 2019

Additional Information:

* Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.
* All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.
* The salary range for this position is $15.00-$19.00 an hour.
* Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
