Supplemental Information

The Business Advising Coordinator will report directly to the Dean of the College of Business and will work closely with the Associate Dean, College Graduate Program Directors, and Business Department Chairs. This position has responsibilities in External Relations, Administration, Mentoring, and Curriculum. The Coordinator serves as the point of contact for the College of Business with Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar. This is a 12 month, salaried, 1 FTE staff position


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Evidence of interpersonal skills, evidence of organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree

Previous experience with admissions, recruiting, training, external relations, online educational programs, and/or working with high school students.

Job Concepts

External Relations: The Coordinator will assist, as needed, with recruiting and external relations as they relate to the undergraduate degree programs in the College of Business.

Administration: The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining undergraduate student records including tracking progress towards degree completion, substitution forms, holds, and degree checkouts. The Coordinator will support the implementation of undergraduate catalog requirements in the College of Business and for all students outside of the College of Business taking Business classes. The Coordinator will advise all new accelerated and transfer students for a minimum of one semester. The Coordinator may assist with managing alumni and assessment data as needed. The Coordinator serves as the Chair of the College of Business Scholarship committee and administers all scholarship paperwork.

Mentoring: The Coordinator will be responsible for mentoring all new faculty on advising practices and procedures. The Coordinator will provide guidance to seasoned faculty on specific questions.

Curriculum: The Coordinator will review and provide feedback on course scheduling to the Dean and Associate Dean based on feedback from students, alumni and the community.
