Job Description

Employment Terms: This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the Student Affairs Division that reports to the Registrar.

Salary: Targeted salary is commensurate with education and experience not to exceed the budgeted amount of $37,000 per year.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9.30 am until 6.30 pm; Friday, 8 am until 4 pm; Occasional evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree from an accredited institution and at least Three years of transfer credit evaluation work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of work experience of transfer credit evaluation work experience and working within the Office of the Registrar and/or Student Affairs.

Job Description Summary:

Under close to general supervision, the Transfer Credit Evaluator is reviewing external college transcripts to determine course equivalency at Gwinnett Technical College with integrity and supporting other student affairs functions.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

1. Direct experience in evaluating external transcripts for transfer credit;

2. Knowledge of transfer credit guidelines, practices and processes;

3. Knowledge of the use of TES, ACE, Military and alternative credit transfer guiding principles;

4. Broad understanding of FERPA and accreditation standards;

5. Knowledge of computerized record keeping and document imaging systems;

6. Maintains or assists in maintaining student records;

7. Ability to gather data and compile reports;

8. Skilled in using web-based research tools;

9. Proficient in presentation skills;

10. Assists Registrar's Office with providing information to OneStop Advisors and to students;

11. Assists with registration, New Student Orientation, and/or graduation activities;

12. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior;

* Strong customer service approach when working with both internal and external customers;
* Excellent oral and written communicative skills;
* Strong organizational skills;
* Ability to work independently as well as within a team to achieve results;
* Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
