Position Summary:

The Representative II for Accounts Receivable is responsible for coordinating the daily posting of cash and remittance advice to customers' accounts in the Assist and High Radius AR system. He or she is also responsible for balancing daily postings, while minimizing the amount of unapplied payments. Systems support and knowledge, accuracy, versatility, and ability to handle large volumes of various types of data input are key components of this position. The person should be adaptable to insure responsibility for daily departmental duties, as well as other duties as designated by the Supervisor of Accounts Receivable, or as may be designated to assist in the Credit Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Post cash received daily to the Assist and High Radius AR systems
* Balance and resolve errors with incoming bank files
* Research pre-application to maintain low levels of unapplied payments, with high level of accuracy
* Research, minimize, and correct AR entry errors
* Audit and trace unapplied postings, to search for possible application opportunities
* Reconcile/resolve complex unmatched items as necessary
* Strive to improve the cash application hit/match rates
* Post adjustments, chargebacks, refunds, and miscellaneous data entry as needed
* Assist with month-end close and deadline as determined by supervisor
* Assist in training and/or cross-training as requested
* Various duties otherwise requested to assist the credit department

Qualifications

Education/Experience Equivalent (minimum requirements)

* High School Diploma or GED
* Basic Accounting Classes
* Minimum 3 year of related work experience in accounts-receivable
* Credit collection experience a plus

Other Skills:

* Basic Understanding of Accounting & Compliance practices
* Knowledge of basic principles of accounting including debits and credits
* Strong knowledge of A/R systems and the impacts of cash application
* Basic to advanced knowledge and skills with Word, Excel
* Ability to manipulate and integrate data from various sources and on-line tools
* Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work to meet required deadlines
* Must be self-motivated, with ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure and interruptions
* Demonstrated record of regular attendance and punctuality
