As a Civil

Engineer Intern, you will assist engineers and designers by performing the

routine aspects of civil engineering assignments and also assist in the

analysis of engineering studies.

Your Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a

Civil Engineer Intern (EI) to join our Surface Transportation team in Reno, NV.

This position is for individuals looking to challenge themselves on a

professional level on a variety of transportation and Infrastructure projects

ranging from site civil, local roads and complete streets to major interstates

and transit projects to shared use paths and trails. We are looking for a Civil

Engineer Intern who excels in working in a team environment and has a passion

for the work that they do. You will have the opportunity to learn and

work on exciting and multi-faceted projects and grow your career. You will

perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Assists team in developing design plans andcalculations, technical specifications, technical reports, andconstruction cost estimates under guidance of senior engineering staff.

* Works with other engineering disciplines andprofessionals in the coordination of the project.

* Exposure to grading, coordinate geometry, paving,streets and highways, drainage and utilities.

* Performs field work and construction phase servicessupport.

* Assists with engineering duties on projects of variouscomplexity.

* Assists with collecting data and gathering informationto support design decisions.

* Assists in basic interpretation and verifying compliancewith applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.

* Performs other duties as assigned by the seniorengineering staff.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

* Experience of 0 to 3 years in design and draftingactivities.

* An NCEES EI Certificate. Successful completion of NCEESProfessional Engineers Exam is a plus.

* Basic understanding of general concepts of relevantareas of civil engineering design.

* Ability to participate and collaborate in project teamsetting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal,along with excellent interpersonal abilities.

* Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and othersimilar material.

* Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.

* AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills; MicroStation experience aplus.

* Attentiveness to detail, ability to multi-task, andwillingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple projectmanagers.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Civil Engineering. Must be a registered Engineer Intern. Must have a

Valid Driver's License. Typical office environment working

with computers and design team with the ability to work independently. Field

work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
