Position Summary

The position is for a business services manager and functional area expert for our Industrial operations globally, with specific focus on the use of information technology to optimize and digitize our sales order management and service management processes.

The holder of this position serves as a key contributor to the development of optimal business architecture for their area and as a lead designer of dependent business process and business outcome requirements.

As a "trusted advisor," and a key point of contact for Global IT and business stakeholders, the holder of this role acts as advocate on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure IT services meet their business priorities and needs and champions the global rollout of proven template solutions for their functional area, ensuring leverage and adoption of the Global IT policies and delivery framework.

The business services manager is the relationship manager between Global IT and the assigned business areas, providing support throughout key IT programs and leading the planning and execution of related initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities

* Act of liaison between the Stanley Black & Decker business and Global IT
* Build a trusted relationship with related roles in the business and IT shared services
* Partner with representatives of the business & Global IT to deliver IT solutions to advance the strategic roadmap/goals of the business
* Manage customer expectations around what Global IT can deliver within stated constraints (budget, timeline, etc.)
* Manage the alignment of business process design and technical solutions to the desired business outcomes
* Collaborate with, train and guide local business analysts to ensure holistic global template solutions are developed and to ensure successful local adoption of the global template
* Communicate clearly and concisely the status of incidents, problems, change requests and releases as needed
* Support organizational change management activities with development and delivery of training, coaching, user documentation and presentations
* Minimize business value lost during a project by monitoring and reporting escalations
* Track and document stakeholder's satisfaction, IT services consumed, and service level attainment reporting
* Share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business

Skills & Experience

* Solid knowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills
* 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* Experience of working to and meeting budget goals and objectives in an assigned area
* Experience of designing and/or developing and/or rolling out a solution template across multiple sites
* Experience of preparing high level activity and progress reports and presenting to Senior Leadership

Education

* Undergraduate degree and 8-10 years relevant experience, or
* Graduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience.
